Description : The seeds are used as demulcent, diuretic, expectorant and tonic. Useful in cough and bronchitis. Also removes fat from the arteries, keeping the cholesterol in low levels. The bean produces a compound called L-dopa (up to 8%). It corrects the imbalance in the brain between dopamine and acetylcholine. The drug companies regularly prescribe L-dopa for Parkinson’s Disease.
