Description : The seeds are alterative, antibacterial, antiinflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitumor, antitussive, aperient, aphrodisiac, cardiotonic, deobstruent, depurative, diuretic, expectorant, galactagogue, nutritive, phytoestrogenic and sedative and are useful in asthma, cough, bronchial and whooping cough, cold, sore-throat and skin eruptions. The seeds contain isoflavones that mimic the action of oestrogen. They are also thought to stimulate the liver and gall bladder, helping to keep the digestive system in a healthy state. They cleanse and clear toxins, nourish and move the blood, stimulate lymphatic movement, reduce swelling and inflammation, reduce respiratory irritation, and promote tissue repair. They also improve the blood’s haemoglobin levels and the size and number of blood platelets.

Recommended Dosage : 3 to 5 g powder of dried seeds.

Contraindication : This herb is not recommended during pregnancy or lactation. Avoid for at least a week prior to surgery.
